Words of my mouth.

Father has been stirring me to change, as being born again should always do – change, growth, new me!

One of the many things He is working on in me is the words I utter. The bible talks a lot about the words we speak, and the power of the tongue.  As we journey, I believe that God wants everything that comes out of our mouths to be pleasing to Him.

Psalm 19:14  May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. Continue reading

Noah moment or Jonah moment?

Lets just begin by saying … I know I am not Noah – i.e. God has not said “hey Naggie, I have seen you and you are the only one that I have found righteous“.  No, no, no … that is not what I have heard 🙂

The reason for this post is to share with you what God has been talking to me about over the last little while.  And to possibly help in those decision making moments that we all face … when we hear and either obey, or disobey.

God has been showing me, every time He talks to me about something, I have a decision to make, to hear and obey, no matter what the cost, that is, to have a Noah moment!”  Or to hear and disobey and walk the other direction, that is, to have a Jonah moment!Continue reading

We have been talking together about what it might look like to have nothing! What it would look like to have no home, no food, no job, no friends, no family, no money … Nothing. That even your basic things needed to survive seemed unmet. You were lost, broken, alone, hungry, homeless.

We, as a family, have all these things … A home, car, friends, family, job, money, full cupboards, we are BLESSED!  Yet often I hear my heart complain about what we don’t have! Sharing my hunger for more of this world through lips that say “if only we had a bigger house, more money, newer car … ” the list goes on. Continue reading

Count the cost!

God has been talking to me, a lot, about what separates us, as you know, and also what it means to be a follower, a disciple – blog to come … It’s been a full on one to write as He processes me though the living reality!!

So last night, when reading His Word (yay I have such a hunger for it since that morning of delight in Him), He talked to me about the value of the kingdom of heaven – the parable about the man who discovers hidden treasure … Matthew 13: 44-46

“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field.

“Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. When he discovered a pearl of great value, he sold everything he owned and bought it! Continue reading

Born again?

I have never fully understood what it meant to be “born again”. I have heard people say it about themselves, and even asked it of me. I have been apprehensive to respond with a yes, without really knowing what I was saying yes to. It’s been one of those scriptures that I have glossed over and said “yer I get it”, but never truly did … Until yesterday morning!!

I was getting ready for the day, I had been praying in the shower, singing as I got out and then sorting clothes for the day, when this incredible joy just flooded over me … It was so surreal. I felt warmth, love, utter delight. I was just overwhelmed by His presence. Just in my room, nothing particularly special happening, just the normal daily grind of getting ready for the busy day that lay ahead. Continue reading

Wait … HOLD!!

I was chatting to a friend over coffee last night – well actually until the wee small hours of this morning … whoops! 😉

We had a great time talking about God, our struggles, scripture and praying together.  Our paths are so similar and it intrigues me to see where God takes us in the future.  Watch this space!!

One thing she too is struggling with is the Sunday service thing and what ‘church’ has turned into.  I suggested she read this post … it is challenging and encouraging. Continue reading

LOVE ;-)

LOVE – God just led us to read 1 Corinthians 13: 1-13.  So together, we read it and know that this is Him.  He is love, therefore He is patient, kind, does not boast, does not envy …….. and He is calling us to Himself, calling us to love like He does, so we must walk in this love that He shows us in this verse, as we have Him in us, and so should reflect this kind of love, but not in flesh or trying, but because we have Him IN US!
